This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I have the pleasure of working with 20 wonderful, eager to learn students. They are so happy and so proud of themselves for making it to third grade.
Many of the students in this class have a form of a learning disability or are still learning English as a second language.
They are so creative, loving and excited to learn. In the first half of the school year, they have helped each other so much and boosted each others confidence levels up when the work becomes difficult.
My Project
Most of the students in my classroom have difficulties staying in their seat due to attentional issues, hyperactivity, emotional instabilities and other handicaps.
Having these stability balls instead of chairs will allow the students in my class to be able to focus on their work while bouncing or rolling.
They will also help improve handwriting. Many times they want to get out of their seat and use an excuse of water, bathroom, sharpening their pencil etc.
These balls will allow them to continue working, uninterrupted, without making excuses to get out of their seat. I expect to have less interruptions during lessons and a higher rate of work completion.
These balls are the best to choose because at the end of the day, they can stack the ball on the top of their desk, instead of having to carry heavy chairs and stacking them.
