Stability Ball Chairs for Active Students

My students need balance ball chairs to be able to move during class time.

My Students

My students are 21st century students. They are learning to become problem solvers and thinkers.

Our middle school is moving towards classrooms that are student centered instead of teacher centered meaning students guide the learning, not teachers.

They just become facilitators.

Our school is located in an inner city and we have a diverse population that we are trying to reach. We have students who come from wealthy homes to students that come from very low income. It is quite a challenge to reach them all.

My Project

In middle school, students are often told they need to learn to sit still. My students have expressed that they learn better when given the opportunity to move and be active during learning. Bringing stability ball chairs into the classroom, will meet the both the health and wellness of my students.

Research has shown that when students are actively engaged in learning, they retain more information.

I have found that students that are allowed to move and become engaged in a lesson will survive test taking as well as real world skills. Being able to provide them with the tools they need is my job.
