This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to learn! They are always ready and willing to learn. They love to be prepared for any and all activities planned for them. But, they need the ability to have easy access to their materials in one place.
Our school is an inner city school in a major urban area.
My students are in a high risk area.
With distance learning, it is sometimes difficult for my students to have a comfortable space for themselves to learn. By providing them with their own lap desk they will be able to have a personal work space of their own. This allows for less distraction and more stability of their devices.
My Project
Zoom meetings have become a challenge as my students find it difficult to find a nice, quiet setting at home due to the lack of their personal desk. They find themselves in their rooms, on top of their beds which are not very stable and I end up speaking to their ceilings.
With providing the students with their own lap desk, they will be able to meet with us in a room of their choice without the need of having to hold up their device because the surface is too soft.
