Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in a dual language program. This is their 3rd year learning Spanish! Many of my kids come from a background where they don't have a lot of access or opportunities to new experiences or materials for school. My students are from a Title I school where the majority of the students receive free breakfasts and lunches. And yet, they still try their hardest.
My students are full of hope despite their circumstances.
My students love learning! They have really gotten into science experiments this year and are always so excited to try new things.
My Project
Many of my kids are full of the wiggles. They have difficulty focusing in class and are constantly full of movement which distracts other students and takes away from their own learning time.
By having a stability ball on which they can expend those wiggles, they will be better able to focus on the task at hand.
It will also minimize how often they distract their classmates. They will be more productive and will have another tool that helps them deal with their hyperactivity.
Students often spend too much time sitting at their desks which can lead to behavior problems. Having these stability balls will help them to release the energy they have which in turn will help them have clearer minds for learning.
