My Project
Each year, the state of Florida chooses 15 books for the SSYRA Jr. list which is for students in kindergarten through second grade. My goal is to have a class set including all 15 titles. I would love to have a class set of these books to help my students have access to all the titles to read them during class independent reading time or to be used as a class read-aloud as well.
When the students finish these books, they earn a "dog tag" charm to wear on a necklace.
This allows them to show off their hard work and to keep track of all the books they have successfully read for the year. This is a huge motivation for students and encourages reading and comprehension within the classroom.
