This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Summer can be an exciting time, but for many of my students, it also comes with big emotions, changes in routine, and sensory overload. I teach in an ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) classroom that serves both general education and special education students, many of whom have IEPs or 504 plans that include sensory or emotional regulation needs. Providing students with simple, effective tools—like NeeDohs—can help them stay calm, focused, and emotionally regulated during unstructured times like summer learning or extended school year programs.

NeeDohs are soft, squeezable sensory fidgets that offer comfort, stress relief, and tactile input.

They're easy for students to use independently and can support focus, reduce anxiety, and provide a healthy outlet for restlessness or big feelings. With your support, I hope to give each student access to their own NeeDoh to use during summer break or summer school, ensuring they have a tool to help manage emotions wherever they are.

Your donation will help promote self-regulation, independence, and emotional well-being—giving students a small but powerful way to feel supported and successful all summer long.
