We work in an inner city public school. Almost all of our students qualify for title one services. We need all the help we can get, as we are outnumbered in every classroom. Our classes are all over-sized.
Fortunately, we have an after school basketball team which is a great motivator for these children!
Many of these children come to school just because they have basketball after school. Since there are no physical education classes this is one of the true highlights in our school.
My Project
Defense demands position, shoes provide a base for position. These students need decent shoes to play the sport they and love and come to school for.
Our students love to play basketball but do not usually have the correct shoes for competition.
These resources will help us not only make sure the children's feet are protected but make them feel special in their new shoes. They are already special just being chosen to be a part of the team. They must be good students and citizens to even have the opportunity to try out. These shoes are a reward for a job well done as well as a giant boost of confidence!
