Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students in 8th grade get individual attention to prep them in order to be ready for 9th grade in high school. I help the student recognize most of the applications in the Texas instrument calculators. For example, they will learn when to use the second button for specific practice similar to using the fraction/ decimal application. It is necessary for them to recognize the difference between the negative button verses the other operation button for subtraction.
Part of Nevada Math content standards is working with square roots, squares, and exponents.
In addition, the statistic button is efficient to find means, modes, quartiles and much more. My students use the calculators in each class and it is always nice and efficient when each student has his/her/ their own calculator to use in class.
