My Students

My students are brilliant, engaging, and hardworking 4th graders. I have the privilege of teaching these bright and interesting young people each day.

The goal in our classroom is for all students to learn while also seeing themselves as learners who are ready to take on new challenges.

Our classroom community is filled with students who are excited about learning. My school is located in a low-income area; 75% of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch. The neighborhood is a mixture of cultures, first and second-generation immigrants as well as students and families who have called it home for generations. It is an incredible group of families, students, teachers, and community partners.

My Project

Each day my amazing students start their day with an entry task. Sometimes we focus on math review or reading, but sometimes we start with puzzles and Legos to get our brains warmed up. In this project, I've requested more of our most popular classroom entry tasks - Legos and puzzles. My students will be thrilled to have more options each day.

An organized and functional classroom space helps students be successful, feel good in their classroom, and support their learning!

The other materials in this project (pocket charts, sentence strips, card stock) will help to support my students academically as we discuss new vocabulary and concepts and the tools for organization (supply baskets, bins, etc.) will help all my students be successful in managing their workspace and learning supplies. By making sure students have what they need to be successful, you're supporting their learning!

Additionally, because students can't get up and move around our classroom as much as they once did, having more options for flexible seating (the stools) allows more students the opportunity to move their bodies while still being safely in their space. We have a few of these wobble stools currently and our class will be thrilled to have more options!

We appreciate your support of our classroom, and I know that these items will impact our classroom positively!
