Help me give my students a new small group learning space with materials such as a small group table, dry erase dots, printer ink to make decodable books, Orton Gillingham resources and wiggle seats.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The small group table, wobble chair cushions, and dry erase spots for the table will allow me to create a comfortable learning environment that meets my students' individual needs during center rotations. During center rotations, at one point students work in a small group with me, I would love to make their rotation more comfortable during this time. During this time we would also use the Orton Gillingham decodable readers to help build our reading confidence.
Pictures are worth a thousand words for my students with special needs.
The printer ink will allow me to produce colorful, interactive, high-quality materials for my learners to use during this time. My students would benefit from having their station work in color as they are visual learners and are more motivated by bright and engaging materials.
The board game set will allow my students not only to build their confidence with their phonics skills, but are also able to work on important social skills such as sharing, turn taking and being a good sport.
