Springing Into Spring!

Help me give my students planters, seeds, Play-Doh eggs, and egg cartons for our spring activities!

My Project

We just started learning about plants in science in my kindergarten class. Students are intrigued and love watching time-lapse videos of seeds growing. We talk often about how plants don't really grow that fast, but I'd love to be able to show them how long a few different plants do take to grow. I have an Aerogarden from a previous DonorsChoose project. With the Aerogarden, the requested planters, and seeds, I will be able to help my students study the growth of grass, petunias, and lima beans (which we already have).

The Play-Doh eggs and cartons will be for the annual kindergarten 'Numbered Egg Hunt'.

As an academic Easter-themed celebration, we number eggs and give students each a plastic carton with 10 spots for eggs. Each student must find eggs numbered 1-10 to fill their carton. I plan to label all of the Play-Doh eggs with the same number so that each student will get one! The rest of the eggs and candy will be donated by students' families.
