My Students

I teach 2 classes full of brilliant, energetic, and intelligent students. They are passionate about learning and are starting to become amazing writers. I have watched them grow throughout the school year but learning has been a bit of a challenge do to social distancing because when it is time for group reading we do not have enough books to all be on the same page, this makes our turn talks a struggle .

I love the excitement and enthusiasm they show every single day for learning and for sharing what they know.

I just wish that they had more of the same material so that they can dialogue and read together even when they are away from school. I see how reading builds their confidence and comprehension, allowing them to shine.

My Project

My project will be used to continue closing the reading gaps that our students experience every day. I am going to make reading fun and we can only do that by providing grade level and age appropriate reading for our scholars that they can pick up every day. My goal with this project is to steadily increase levels of difficulty pushing my students to their highest capability.

As my students build their confidence through reading I know that it will shine through in other areas of their lives and in school.
