My Students
The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a CHOICE. - Brian Herbert. As an International Baccalaureate school, our students demonstrate a willingness to explore through inquiry.
Our school offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
It promotes inquiry based learning which encourages students to take ownership of their learning. My fifth grade students come from very diverse backgrounds. Some have access to technology while others do not. As we have transitioned into the 21st century, knowledge is at our fingertips. It is so important that access to this knowledge is equitable.
My Project
Students will use Chromebooks throughout the day in various subjects. They will utilize the computers for research and to create various products in order to show their learning. Students will also access online reading quizzes so they can self-assess their progress. Equally important, students will collaborate online through the Google platform as they provide feedback to each other. They then in turn can apply that feedback immediately to improve their own learning.
These Chromebooks will promote equity in our 21st century classroom by providing all students access to technology and the ability to dig deeper into the world around us.
They will help drive student's willingness to learn and build their skills.
