Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a Multicultural, multilingual Kindergarten classroom where approximately half are English Learners and more than half come from low-income homes.

We want to create art to express what we are learning about Spring! Hand-on experiences like painting butterflies and making tissue paper flowers are a great way to teach language as well as to develop fine motor ability.

My students need paper, watercolors, tissue paper, and pipe cleaners to create art projects that reflect what they've learned about Spring. They need books about the changing seasons to relate the changes to their own experiences.

You will make it possible for my students to express themselves in a creative way, to improve their English skills, and to demonstrate their understanding of the change in seasons.
