Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. My students are all different types of learners and have various backgrounds. I have students who do not speak English, students with disabilities, and some students who are homeless.
I teach at a Title I school in the Bronx, New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive food and clothing from the school's charity drives. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
With allergy season starting, my students need these lysol wipes to help keep our classroom clean and dust free. The students will use these lysol wipes to clean their desks on a daily basis at the end of the day.
The students desks tend to get very messy from eating snack and have other germs from when students sneeze and place dirty tissues on their tables.
Also, dust builds up on our book shelves. We use the book shelves everyday as students are getting books everyday, but dust still builds up behind the book bins. These wipes would help to remove the dust and germs and help keep the students healthy.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
