My Students
Right now, with 28 students, we have 11 laptops and it limits us. We need at least a 2/1 ratio of students/laptop.
My students are smart, curious, and capable.
They work together as long-time friends in our vibrant urban school and are well-supported by their neighborhood in every way possible. When I meet them at our classroom door every morning, and see their kindness and inclusiveness, I feel excited and happy about our future!
My Project
We are an International Baccalaureate school with an inquiry-based curriculum. Students are encouraged to be curious, committed to learning, and collaborative. When we have the appropriate ratio of students-to-computers, the students will be able to work flexibly and independently throughout their school day.
We really need more laptops in our classroom!
They are a lifeline to our everyday work - researching critical events and ideas, writing about them, and learning from them. Kids walk up to me every day, wide-eyed in astonishment, to convey what they have learned about the world outside our 50's-era school building. That's what it's all about!
