This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My preschool students are three to five years old. My school is in sunny California where children come to school each morning ready to learn and grow! There's never a dull moment in our class, my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They're eager to learn, explore, engage and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them.

My students need instructional materials to engage with to foster their interest in technology, literacy, math, science, art, and engineering.

They also need instructional materials to support their social-emotional learning to help them grow into well-rounded individuals. Every single one of my students deserves a fair chance at having his or her potential nurtured and fully developed. My little ones have an insatiable curiosity. It's important to me to have a class with a variety of instructional materials to meet their educational needs.

My Project

My students need the From Caterpillar to Butterfly Big Book Activity Kit to learn everything about caterpillars and butterflies. With the 10 Activity cards, the Caterpillar and Butterfly puppets this kit provides, my preschoolers will engage in a lively, literature based learning experience. Furthermore, The Bugs and Insects Instant Learning Center will be a terrific addition to our science center, my students will engage in learning about insecets and bugs with a hands-on learning center that comes ready to use, the children will build skills in sorting bugs/insects and build language learning insects names. The center also, comes with simple picture instructions, so even non readers can participate, this will foster building skills independently. The Expo markers will be used to track children's progress in the write and wipe Bugs and Insects Instant Learning Center assessment cards.

My students need The Butterfly Nursery and coupon for 3-5 caterpillars to have a first hand experience of watching caterpillars grow, spin silk and form chrysalises, then emerge as butterflies!

With the Real Bugs Discovery Kit my students will get an up-close look at 12 amazing insects, the children will be able to safely explore each specimen from every angle, this will support fostering their interest in and love of insects and Bugs.
