Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have created a postcrossing classroom account where my students share positive and compassionate quotes with people from all over the world. Students randomly get assigned a country and they are asked to share kindness with strangers through postcards. Postcrossin.com allows my students to learn different cultures, food and places.
Students also learn how to write a postcard, the value of stamps and the ability to make someone's day by writing a considerate message.
This annual project has usually come out of my pocket because I strongly see the positive impact it has on my scholars. With your help, I can focus on the teaching instead of making rushing to the post office to get more stamps.
For every postcard we send out, we receive a random postcard. It allows us to learn from others. After individuals find out it is a classroom account, people send small tokens to share their culture. We have received coins, playing cards, stickers. It allows us to learn about the world and share love.
