This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students learn best when they are creating projects that allow them to make a difference in at risk communities. Using apple Ipads, students will enhance their 21st centrury skills by creating apps to motivate children, teens, and adults to improve their technology skills such as video recording, video editing, app development. and more. Students will also work in teams and develop their collaboration and team work to work on a common to improve personal skills. Some examples include time management, healthy eathing, exercise, mindfulness, ans sustainality. The ipads have the software that allow students to make the apps, use it, and share it.

These iPads will make a difference in students learning because it provides students real life experiences and relevant opportunities to explore technology and apply it in real life settings.

My goals for this project are for students to create an app that allows students to develop their science skills such as hypothesis testing, asking questions, gathering data, using evidence to support a claim, and create a solution to solve a real world problem. My students are special because they are motivated and inspired scholars that aspire to become the first generation in their family to attend college. They have experienced challenges in their lives that impact their health and life experiences. They care about their community and dream of becoming future teachers, nurses, doctors, public health workers, and advocates for their community.
