My students are emerging readers and writers. Many of them struggle with their own self-esteem and feeling worthy. This is an area I would LOVE to help build up while also building them up as readers and writers.
Writing cards to others and building others up will help them feel like essential members of the community and build up their own self-confidence.
Helping them develop this skill will also help them to learn to take more risks and grow in many different areas. Feeling like students truly belong is essential.
My items include postcards to mail to members of the community, colored pens for fun writing, stickers to add their own pizzazz, and a gift card to be used for rewards for my amazing students.
