My Students
Technology is rapidly changing and we are trying to keep up! The new Kindle Fire ereaders are a great way to read a book, especially since the pages are in vivid color and include animation. My students find technology very motivating and love reading books online.
I teach in a very large elementary school in a rural community.
We have nearly 700 K-5 students with five classes at every grade level. I have twenty-two extremely techie second graders who love all forms of technology. They are able to help me learn how to use the newest tech devices on the market including iPods, iPads, Nooks and tablets. They love using the new Kindle Fire ereaders!
My Project
Our class was very fortunate to have two Kindle Fires funded by Nextjump. My students absolutely love them! I would like to add two more Kindles to our literacy centers, including the protective covers and sleeves. My students enjoy reading books online and the addition of two Kindle Fires would allow the opportunity for more students to use them. My class loves to read, and they are especially motivated when they are using computers or ereaders. We would be able to incorporate the Kindles into our Reading to Self and our Listening to Reading blocks of time.
Using the newest technology is both fun and engaging for students and adults.
We would love to add two ereaders to our classroom, so we can enjoy books online. I already know that the Kindle Fires really do kindle a fire in my students and get them fired up to read, read, read!
