My Students
This year I will be teaching two special education self-contained classes. This year is going to be a year like no other. With blended learning, many challenges and concerns come up. My biggest concern is safety in my classroom. Being that all of my students receive related services of speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, vision services, and/or guidance counseling, there will be a lot of different people in my room at a given time. I aim to keep my classroom safe and clean.
The students in my class are curious, helpful, compassionate, and warmhearted.
As students that receive special education services and English language services, learning and safety is SO important in my classroom.
My Project
All of these materials will help keep myself and my students safe during this upcoming school year. Masks will be mandatory in my classroom, so if students do not wear one to school, I will have masks to supply them with. Since I teach special education students, the clear face masks will be extremely helpful for my student's learning. They will be able to see my mouth. Everyone will benefit from seeing my facial expressions and emotions. Students will be able to see how my mouth moves to create letter sounds and to become stronger readers.
Although this year will be tough, we will get through it!
My students are strong and determined. They are excited to learn and come back into the school building. I just want my students and myself to be able to be as safe as possible.
