This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are pre-kindergarten through fifth graders who are full of energy. They visit the library once per week for a scheduled special. In addition, teachers send students to the library to complete a task or come for a full class activity. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in makerspace activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. There are over 1,400 students in our school! I have a large population of English language learners, many of whom are new to the country. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids!
One kid can make a difference, but when kids work together, the impact can be even greater.
Last year my amazing students participated in community service projects for World Kindness Day. They expressed interest in conducting more kindness projects this year and they are taking the lead, they just need your help to provide the much need materials as part of their projects. Their plan is to spread kindness by making up little treat bags and writing messages, since World Kindness has passed, one of the students thought of the idea "Out of the Blue, we celebrate you" so they are requesting blue items to make up the treat bags such as Oreos, chips, note cards, blue pens, post its, etc. The idea is to randomly spread kindness throughout the entire school community with these treats and messages.
