Spread Aloha & Spirit with Hui Pride

Help me give my students t shirts, Cricut supplies and a photo printer to help them make spirit shirts and displays for their peers to boost school spirit and belonging.

My Project

Implementing a Hui (house) system at our school is aimed at enhancing the educational experience by fostering a sense of belonging, community, and healthy competition among students. It also reinforces our Hawaiian culture as each “Hui” represents a Hawaiian value. The Hui system is to promote leadership, provide support networks, and create a platform for students to showcase their talents. By doing so, it nurtures a spirit of unity, belonging, while also cultivating individuality and personal growth.

The materials specifically requested will help to foster school spirit and unity, while increasing student engagement and improving school culture and climate.

The camera printer will allow us to hang pictures in the office, bulletin boards and classrooms and spread inclusion while wearing the student-created shirts!

We aim to provide our students with white T-shirts that they are able to create to celebrate the students' good qualities, and show pride in each of their Huis.

We already have our own Cricut to use so we are just needing some more materials to use with it. Then students will do everything from design to printing to final product.

This will significantly impact their learning experience and overall school and Hui spirit. By equipping our students with student-created T-shirts, we are not just offering apparel but creating a sense of unity and pride among the students. These T-shirts symbolize teamwork and belonging, fostering a positive atmosphere that extends beyond just academics and into the heart of the classroom.

We want our students to wear their T-shirts with pride, representing their school and their Hui. We hope to encourage more students to participate in Hui activities, knowing they are part of a supportive and unified team. By creating an environment where students feel connected and motivated, we can improve their overall school experience and academics.
