Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a small charter school. We are located in Yuma, Arizona, and house just under 600 students. The majority of these students are with us from the moment they take their first steps into pre-k. From their first interest in sports for fun to their dedication to competitive sports, we are there every step.

Our sports program is new in age.

We collect and resource sports equipment for our teams and appreciate additional assistance in obtaining the items we desperately need. The size of our facility limits our 5th and 6th grade sports teams the most. We regularly rent parks and other facilities to continue the use of our sports programs. Having a scoreboard that travels with us to each game would make a difference for the students participating.

Each game whether home or away contributes to the achievements our students will remember for the rest of their lives.
