This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars consist of a wide range of personalities that all have one thing in common, the eagerness to grow as scholars. With your support of my project, I will be able to provide my scholars with resources for success and to be active.

I want to set my scholar-athletes on a path to success.

My scholars are growing up in a low-income area that does not predict their educational trajectory. My scholars will work hard to get smart, have fun, and will be college ready! This is the third year of our sports program and we want them to have an authentic experience. We have about 70 brilliant scholars wanting to play sports. They are researchers, mathematicians, scientists, authors, historians, etc. My students are the future of Dallas and members of our future society. Every day, they come ready to learn new sports and build their sense of team unity.

My Project

My scholars are very active, which is a great thing. However, I do not have enough equipment for all the scholars. My scholars love to play sports because it gives them another outlet to express themselves.

Having these sporting items, I believe, will help my students to play together and learn about sportsmanship.

I am hoping to gain the right equipment to have a successful sports season. The footballs, basketballs, and soccer balls will help out each team because the scholars will be able to have their own ball. The equipment will help with practices and allow scholars more practice time with their ball instead of waiting.
