Sports Books!

My students need interesting books about sports they love! Examples are "Kids' Book Of Soccer" by Brooks Clark and "Playing Fair, Having Fun: A Kid's Guide to Sports and Games" by Daniel Grippo.

My Students

When kids find something they love, they want to read all about it! My students are asking for books about sports.

My students live in a high-poverty area of Washington State.

They are ethnically and racially diverse. My students need to improve their reading skills AND they love sports. Why not combine the two? My students need books that will interest them.

My Project

The resources I'm requesting include books on famous soccer, football, snowboarding, track and gymnastics heroes. Also, some of the books are about the rules of different sports. These books will inspire my students to not only read, but to work hard. All of these athletes have had to train extremely hard in order to get to where they are. My students need to be inspired!

My students have asked me to find books about sports.

How could I refuse them? When readers are interested in a topic, they will devour books! I want my students to devour books!
