This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come to school every day for a hot meal, caring adult, and learning. Our goal is to provide our students with all of that and more. We want to expose them to other learning opportunities by providing them with after-school programs.
Our students are limited in what they are exposed to outside of school.
They come from homes that face many barriers that include but not limited to single parent homes and low socioeconomic status. As educators, we know that it is important to provide our students with more than just an education. We have to give them opportunities in and out of school.
My Project
These materials will allow for us to practice with our students using materials we don't currently have. They will be able to work on building skills and working together through baseball using the pitching machine and net. Together, with the use of team and skill building the students will become more engaged after-school which will help them with learning during school.
Donations to this project will allow our students with minimal opportunities outside of school to showcase talents they have.
We will be able to provide them with tools that will allow them to practice and compete with other schools in the area. Through sports we can build our students ability to work as a team and increase their confidence.
