My Project
My students attend a public Pre-K through 8th grade Montessori school in Cleveland, Ohio. Our school is comprised of students from all over our city, which has one of the highest poverty rates in the nation. Our Montessori students follow a child-centered approach to develop each child physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Students learn in multi-age classrooms and remain with the same teacher for several years. My classroom is a STEAM Lab, where each student spends at least 8 weeks using technology and other building materials to create.
The LEGO Robotics program is an amazing experience for our students.
Our robotics team has missed the last two competition seasons due to COVID. Many are 8th graders and desperately want to compete together. We have permission to meet before school and need to have the registration fees paid and the challenge set sent so that they can begin preparing for the competition. They will need to build the playing field out of LEGOs and then build and program the robot as a team.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
