This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hands-on science is more fun for everyone. I want my students to be able to do various small labs that will develop analysis and discussion skills.
My students come from an under-privileged and low economic background.
They are 10th and 11th graders that go to a small and young public school in a city. Our school does not have the money to buy many lab supplies. and therefore many students are accustomed to doing paper labs. I'm hoping to give them a lot more hands-on labs.
My Project
These resources will prepare students for college and whatever future job they decide to have. The lab supplies requested will be for many hands-on labs that have the students think about or even create their own questions about various events that will be put in front of them. They will learn how to analyze scientific concepts and how to question the science in everyday occurrences.
My students will hopefully develop a new passion for science.
They will question everything around them such as which soda has bubbles in it, or why oil floats, or why magnets work. They will be able to understand these concepts and explain them to others.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
