it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
After months of learning from home, my students are getting ready to return to the classroom! Our kids are in an integrated special education/general education third grade classroom in a public school in Washington Heights. Some days, students will video chat with teachers throughout the day in reading, writing, phonics, and math lessons, then transition into independent work available through Google apps. Other days, students will participate in socially-distanced classroom instruction. In the epicenter of this pandemic, we are working hard to keep students safe and engaged in learning!
My Project
Blended Learning presents new challenges for teachers, students, and families to face. With students completing half of their learning in the classroom and half remotely from home, teachers now need to prepare two classroom environments.
These materials will help create a cohesive learning environment for students whether at home or in the classroom.
While blended learning is a new unknown, our class will be ready to tackle it together! To maintain a safe and healthy classroom, our students can no longer share communal supplies. With your support, students will receive individual pencil cases with pencils, a sharpener, ruler, and individual math manipulatives to use in the classroom. While students learn from home, headphones will help them focus during online classes and tutorials, binders will keep their worksheets organized, and dry-erase pockets and markers will ensure that they always have a place to practice their math skills.
