My Students
I work in a Rural School as a Special Education Resource Teacher for grades 2-3. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and are so eager to learn!
As a new classroom this year, my classroom is quite limited in resources and I would love to be able to fill my room with many of those needed resources that my kids need to succeed!
Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. As English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued.
My students are quiet, respectful and work extremely hard in order to gain the knowledge they need to succeed.
My Project
As a special education teacher, I strive daily to help my students overcome the obstacles they face. When children struggle to read, all subjects become more difficult.
I have seen S.P.I.R.E be successful in other schools, and would love for my students in my new classroom to experience feeling successful in their reading.
S.P.I.R.E. uses an intensive, multisensory approach to reading. Many of my students do not qualify for services until second grade, the grade in which for most students learning to read ends. These teacher materials will help me to strengthen my skills and allow me to help them make the gains needed to become fluent readers.
