My Project
Each morning all of the fourth graders at our school meet outside in a "holding area" until it's time for class. Students are sometimes waiting for more than 30 minutes for class and often don't bring materials with them to keep them occupied.
We recently discovered our students LOVE nonfiction magazines.
They especially love the magazines that include information on science and animals. Unfortunately, we only have about 30 to offer the students and more than 100 students waiting for class outside. The students aren't able to keep the magazines and due to the material they're made of, you can imagine the wear they're getting.
We would love the opportunity to be able to offer our fourth graders this productive morning activity that they can keep! These magazines won't just be interesting to our students but will help them improve their ability to read and comprehend non-fiction texts.
