My Project
Kindergarten is all about creating a foundational love for learning through choice, fun and innovation!! I spend many hours creating and recreating centers and feel like I am in a hamster wheel! I came across an article on how to get rid of the stress and anxiety associated with centers. I will assign students a color based on ability and identifying their gaps. Students will spin a wheel and their color will give them two options for centers. They can choose one and then the other. They can keep doing the same one. Within each center they have many activities and can do whatever they want within those activities. This will allow me to pull small groups, work 1:1 and manage other aspects of the classroom. My students come from low income homes and allowing them to have fun, get their buy in and minimize stress on “work” is a win-win for us. I will change the activities monthly within the centers, but the system and the centers themselves remain the same ALL YEAR! This will be my 3rd year teaching and I finally have a huge weight lifted off my shoulders for centers next year! These cubbies will house the trays and each will have an activity. There will be 9 activities per color. One shelf will be for ELA activities and the other shelf with be for math activities. Your help funding my project would greatly be appreciated and help my center dreams come true and allow me to sleep easier at night! Thank you
