This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach third grade in a high-poverty school in Georgia. One hundred percent of students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are diverse in academic ability, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and life experience. They are excited about school and love learning new things. My third graders particularly love science and being able to conduct experiments and learn about the world.

I want to provide my students with the best education possible.

We need partners like you to help us get these resources into our classroom.

My Project

We are currently using the old LEGO EV3 Mindstorm robotics kits and block coding platform. The EV3 Mindstorm are used for problem solving class projects and coding. We also have a LEGO Robotics Team that competes yearly in the LEGO Robotics League.

LEGO Robotics has improved their technologies, with the new Spike Prime robotics.

The new LEGO Spike Prime outperforms the old LEGO EV3 Mindstorm with upgrades to sensors, motors, and brick. With the new Spike Prime platform, our students will be able to learn and use coding in an updated format.
