Our NC STEM accredited school serves over 600 wonderful scientists from PK-5. We have a passion for science and STEM and would like to provide the equipment needed for our scientists to learn and grow. This year is our very first year having a science specialist position. In this role, I work to get resources to all classrooms and teach one lesson in each class each week- meaning I get to work with every single student in our school. My goal is to increase the science supplies for hands-on learning, spaces to grow in, and long term projects so students can experience science inside and outside of the classroom.
My Project
Can you imagine learning the planets by coding a robot to visit them in order? Or perhaps graphing changes in speed using a robot? Can you imagine an interactive way to see how the planets orbit?
My students will be so engaged and excited to develop coding skills as well as science knowledge.
These sphero robots allow students of all ages to engage. I teach K-5 and already have lessons set that would be ideal for these robots from teaching movement patterns to kindergarten to planets in third grade to forces and motion in 5th. Your donation will excite my nearly 700 students.
