My Students
We are a public non-profit charter school that is knocking down walls and trying to make the world a better place. We have high populations of gifted and children with learning difficulties. Both populations thrive in our school environment. We are living in the 21st century and trying to give our students the skills to not only survive but to thrive in a world that is changing at the speed of light. Soft skills, creativity, problem solving, and passion are what we offer the world.
My Project
Who will be the last bot standing? Who will protect and save their kingdom/balloon? Build your armor and prepare for a Sphero battle bot tournament of champions!
Have you ever seen the television show Battle Bots?
Student teams will use the engineering and design process to construct armor to protect their balloon while popping the balloons of all enemy robots. The Spheros (spherical robots that can be controlled with an iPad) will serve as the robots motor. Students will use wooden skewers, push pins and other items to prepare their bots. The goal is to move your bot to pop your opponent’s balloon without having your balloon pop. This is an exciting way to get students involved in engineering and design. Thank you for making this possible!
