it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My intervention students WANT to read well! They struggle with memorizing the spelling patterns to make specific sounds in the complex English langauge system. I have discovered Secret Stories materials to help support access to the spelling patterns! Students will learn songs and stories for each unique spelling pattern, such as ae, ou, oi, etc. so when they encounter these patterns in reading, they can quickly recall the correct sound! I am requesting (1) the Secret Stories decorative posters kit which includes the songs and (2) flash cards my teacher's aid and I will use daily to help students commit the sounds to memory.
The Secret Stories visuals will be posted on the walls for all access, and daily use of the flashcards will help my students commit the spelling patterns and sounds to memory.
