This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My little first graders are full of questions and imagination. They are eager for information about the world around them.
My wonderful first graders are beautiful, inspiring and very active.
They live in an economically disadvantaged neighborhood in California. Over 90% of our students are on free or reduced rate lunch, and many do not have a lot of toys or books at home. Our students often come to school hungry because their parents had no money to feed them breakfast. Most teachers at our school keep graham crackers in our classrooms to feed students who did not get breakfast. My students often ask Santa for new shoes, or clothes for their siblings when we make our Christmas lists. They are very interested in animals and how things work. I would love to provide an incubator and chicken eggs for my curious little boys and girls.
My Project
My students are very interested in living things around them. We make sure that every cricket or spider that happens to wander into our classroom is escorted safely outside without harming the critter. I am requesting an Incubator Set and Chick Feeding set! The incubator would be a wonderful addition to our classroom. I also have a loving home for the chicks once they hatch.
