Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have students that are very resilient. They have been through Hurricane Harvey which still has buildings closed waiting for repairs. After that, school was closed for bats and now, it is closed for the coronavirus. This has been very tough on the entire community; however, they continue to stand together while apart.
Students have a choice between face to face speech therapy or online speech therapy to students at the same time and will not be allowed to share materials therefore we want to supply digital materials for the students to complete while they are at speech therapy.
My Project
Students make more progress when engaged in speech therapy. Since there are limited supplies, the students eventually become bored with the materials used for therapy.
New materials, both digital and print, help to reengage students in therapy, resulting in an increase in progress!
Speech therapy consists of articulation (sounds used when speaking), Language, Fluency (stuttering and more), and voice. These categories used in the school do not represent adequately what speech therapy entails. Materials become dated and are no longer relevant like: telephone booths, corded telephones, tape players and so many more. Materials also wear out and require replacement Please help use provide current relevant materials! TpT materials can be made again when they wear out!
