Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Book sets, such as Mindfulness Matters and Spanish Words Embedded, support emotional regulation and representation in the speech and language room. Since everyone learns differently, having flexible seating chairs and options for fidgets allows all learners to access the material to more effectively access, engage, and make progress in the educational setting. The cleaning wipes will help make a clean, safe environment for students. Art supplies and writing utensils will allow for students to tap into their creativity with new materials and produce work that reflects their learning. Fruit snacks are included to hold over our little friends whose bodies are telling them they are hungry - some needs must be met before they can learn well! Games such as Chutes and Ladders and the What Should You Do? game will support social skills such as turn taking, problem solving, and conversation with peers.
The requested materials will further foster my mission of students feeling seen, known, and valued during their speech and language sessions to make progress on their goals.
