My Students

I am a Speech and Language Pathologist, and I work with several students who cannot attend a brick-and-mortar school during COVID to receive services, like speech. I rely on technology to help my students access speech and language practice opportunities and lessons. Specifically, I'm finding that our students with special needs benefit from using an iPad, rather than a Chromebook or other devices. I'm trying to get a few iPads for my most at-risk students, so that ALL of my students can communicate and succeed.

My Project

As a speech and language pathologist for an online public school, I serve several students who can only receive their education and interventions remotely, using technology.

I've discovered that students are most successful when they have access to an iPad, with the option to touch the screen and to access critical apps only available on an iPad.

I hope that by giving students access to the best learning technology tools, they will be able to continue to build and grow their communication skills and reach their learning goals, regardless of their learning environment.
