My students need tablets to help increase their ability to speak. I am writing this grant in conjunction with the schools speech department.

My Students
Do you remember the child who had a speech impediment or could not talk at all. The assistive devices we are requesting are tools to help them learn to enunciate and in some cases are used as communications devices for students who can not speak.
The student has a number of physically challenged students who have trouble speaking.
The speech teachers at our school try to provide them with as much assistance as they can but the tablets would make practicing easier for the students. There are some wonderful characters that repeat what a child says. The child has a chance to hear themselves and try to correct what they hear. It also give the child a chance to laugh a little while they learn to correct their speech.
My Project
Please help these wonderful students with speech problems. Our hope is to have them speaking better by the time they leave our school. It will be so helpful to have the tablets as a tool to improve their speech and their lives. In some cases it gives a child the chance to communicate for the first time.
This project is so important to helping a number of students.
The school is a large school with more than sixty percent of the students below the poverty level. These assistive devices would be a great help.
