This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been very excited to learn and be back in the classroom since Covid-19 distance learning. Distance learning was very difficult on my speech and language students since many of them have difficulties communicating already. Now that we are back in the classroom I need materials that not only help their speech and language but materials that also relate to their social skills and social emotional learning. My students all have speech and language impairments and many of them have other impairments as well, such as autism and learning disabilities.

I have ordered materials that will specifically help my students in the Autism room that I service.

I have ordered some specific items that deal with social situations and how to respond to them appropriately. I have ordered some categorizing materials and materials that will help my students with their social emotional needs. I have ordered some books with sounds that will help my lower cognition students attain and learn. I have also ordered some National Geographic book sets to help my older language students with their reading comprehension.
