My students need a laptop in order to use the internet to learn how to research ideas, write papers and utilize computer learning games.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine hand writing everything and only looking up information in outdated books? This is what my students experience in our school everyday.
NYC is a place where every student should have as many opportunities as possible.
However, due to lack of funds, my students have limited access to working computers. My 3rd grade through 8th grade students are speech and language impaired and still need to learn how to look up information on the Internet efficiently. My students come from low income families and many of them do not have computers in their home. They're only chance to use computers is in school. This is important to be successful and expand on life long technological skills.
My Project
If we receive a working laptop and printer this is what could be accomplished. Students will gain researching skills, typing skills and how to navigate a computer and open the door for new knowledge. A printer would allow them to hand in work that is neat and they can be proud of.
My students are all diagnosed with a speech and language impairment.
These students are hard workers and already have to work harder then a typical student due to their speech and language impairment. This could help them have another avenue to understanding the world around them.
