My Students

Our students will benefit greatly from using technology. At least 98% of the students at our school are of low socioeconomic status and at times it is a challenge for them at school because of the problems they face at home. Many of the students at FCJES lack food, necessities, and school supplies. The area in which my students live was negatively affected by COVID-19 and don't have the necessary resources for virtual school. It is heartbreaking to see how much impact COVID-19 has on our city and our students. As an educator, it is my job to ensure all my students received the education they need and to meet all their needs. I will always ensure my students are comfortable in their learning environment.

Additionally, all of the students in my class have learning disabilities.

Some cannot read or write. I would love to be able to provide students with laptops and Chromebooks so that they'll be able to continue learning during this difficult time as we adjust to virtual learning. My students need and want this, and technology shouldn't be the reason why they can't flourish.

My Project

The iPad and laminating machine will be used to assist in creating lessons that are fun, interesting, and educational hands-on activities. In implementing work centers, small reading and math intervention centers will be utilized daily to comprehend their objectives. This will make a difference in the learning environment by allowing the scholars to become independent in the learning process. This will help improve the learning outcomes as many students digressed because of COVID. Incorporating these changes in my classroom would make a world of difference. I find that my kids learn through multiple technology and hands-on activities.
