Sped Pre-K classroom: Calming equipment

Help me give my students the proper equipment they need to sleep during nap time, cool down area when feeling frustrated and a working printer for the classroom.

My Students

All my students are eager to learn, adorable and sweet. They are all under 5 years old and have unique disabilities. Many of my students struggle with social skills, speech, fine and gross motor. Having these outside toys will allow them to play together even if they are not talking to each other. Creating an environment where students can play together and build social skills is a key element in prepping these students for inclusion kindergarten. As their teacher, it is my job to ensure that I am doing everything I can to create a loving, safe, welcoming and academically appropriate learning environment for these students.

My Project

After a rigorous morning of learning, playtime on the feild and a full lunch the pre-k students are ready for their nap. Due to the income status of my student families, they are sometimes unable to send proper sleeping equipment. The toddler tree cube will be used to help students calm/cool down by giving them a designated area. The enclosed feeling of the cube comforts students. The printer will be used in the classroom to supply the student with anything they need that is printable.

By donating to this project, this Special Education Pre-K classroom will be one step closer to becoming the perfect environment for young learners.

The toddler tree cube is an item that many special education classrooms need. Students that struggle with disabilities find comfort in being in an enclosed area. The sleeping mats will give all the students the comfort they need during nap time. The printer will be used to assist the teacher and students by giving them a quick and efficient way to print/scan/copy/ect…

Working in a low-income district has its challenges, but with your help this classroom can have the proper equipment it needs for students to thrive. The administration of my complex supports the special education pre-k program as much as they can, however there is still a lack of funding. Your support will help create a classroom where young learners can thrive and enjoy their learning experience.
