This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The beginning of the school year is exciting for everyone; however, many of my students struggle to be able to purchase many of the supplies needed to start the school year.
I love where I teach and the students who come in and out of it every year.
Not many people feel that way. Many people consider the area I teach in "bad," but I consider it to be poor and in need of a change. Teaching in the inner-city is a challenge, but it pays out the biggest rewards when we provide students with new opportunities and exciting learning opportunities.
My Project
My school is filled with students who want to learn more and experience new things, but they often lack the resources to do this. I spend my summer looking for sales on various things my students will need throughout the school year. Very often they do not come in with the basic necessities to start their learning. The pencils, markers, crayons and colored pencils I am requesting will allow my students to do more arts and crafts activities and projects during their lessons.
Please donate to help purchase the basic school supplies that will allow my students to do various projects in all subjects throughout the school year.
Students enjoy making colorful graphs for math, covers for their personal writings in literature and creating various models in science and social studies. These supplies will last all school year.
