My Project
This project will help my students with moderate Autism learn the basics of literacy instruction. As students with Autism paired with limited verbal abilities, they require a specialized curriculum that relies on picture cues, concrete direct instruction, and unique activities to maintain attention and increase engagement.
My students need a literacy curriculum adapted to their unique levels.
My classroom has a reading program but it is not geared for students with limited language abilities. These students are curious about the world around them and they deserve a literacy program that increases their reading comprehension and phonemic awareness while developing their love for literacy.
