My Project

As a school social worker, I can first hand tell you that our SPED (special education) team works tirelessly to make a space where children can succeed, we don't put limits on children even with the most special needs, and our belief is that all children can achieve all of their goals.

Our SPED team works with multiple children who have Autism so the tent will be used as sensory/calm down centers.

Noise cancelling headphones, weighed items, lights, and sensory toys will make such an incredible difference in a child who has ASD life when they are overstimulated.

The requested prizes will help children who struggle academically and behaviorally to celebrate those huge wins when they achieve their academic and socio-emotional goals; this both increases the child's self esteem and positive reinforcement is a must in this work.

Lastly, the organizers are to keep everything in a small space all tidy which is necessary to keep us doing this great work that we do. These requested items are all greatly needed in our Special Education Toolkit. At this school we work with children who have various special needs, but the children who this will help are all very exceptionally wonderful people!
